I would like to make this build viable under less extreme circumstances. Since Ward requires 185 and Aegis 219 STR nobody would use them, but Monarch is not the only 4 socket shield. Ward and Aegis can get 4 sockets as well. Drahaques build is just for optimizing raw dps in a perfect group environment. Considering that a Monarch is the only 4 socketable shield other then pally shields. I put all my info and progress in a build for easy readability. * Replace Long Arm of the Law with Holy Cause: damage vs self heal. * Replace Bane of the Stricken with Esoteric Alteration (probably good idea). Diablo 2 Resurrected Runewords - List of all Runewords formulas. * Going for double Unity on followers costs way too much DPS and didn't help that much.
* Pauldrons of the Skeleton King can really help.
* Illusory Boots is nice, Ice Climbers is better. The latter sucks big time, so Shield Glare it is, although we sacrifice mobility. * Heavens Fury is obviously shit here, so we use Shield Glare(Subdue) or Steed Charge(Rejuvenation). I have tried lots of things and here is a short list of what I have tried/will try/didntwork/worked out: I am currently running this build and while my gear is far from optimal, the general direction needs to be a tad more defensive. Ral can easily drop from doing Countess runs on any difficulty.
Or, it can be made by transmuting 3 Ral Runes in the Horadric Cube. The Ort Rune can also only drop on Nightmare or Hell difficulty. This doesn't mean players need to wait until Nightmare to get a Thul Rune, however, as it can be made by transmuting 3 Ort Runes in the Horadric Cube in Diablo 2: Resurrected, which changes them into a Thul Rune. Unlike Tal, Thul can only drop from defeating the Countess on Nightmare or Hell difficulty. She can drop Tal after she is defeated while playing on any difficulty in Diablo 2: Resurrected. The Countess can then be found on the fifth level. This involves going to the Black Marsh in Act 1, and locating the entrance to the Forgotten Tower. If they have been sold, a Tal Rune can be easily found by doing Countess runs. Tal is one of the easiest Runes to get in Diablo 2, and by the end of a Normal playthrough, players will almost certainly have one in their stash as long as they haven't been selling Runes.
